I want to let everyone know how to get a cd if you can't come to our show. It is available to download (whole cd or any song) at www.digstation.com . Go to the genre selection and select blues. We also have download cards available that are good for the cd at digstation which will allow you to download the cd onto your ipod or mp3. The cds are also available at www.cdbaby.com and we hope to have them in mom's music and ear xtacy soon. The cd will also be available on itunes soon, probably within the next few weeks. If any of our fans want to comment on the cd or a show, please e-mail us at the kingbees website. We love to hear from you.

We are pleased to announce our new cd "Love Hasn't Killed Me Yet" has won the Kentucky Blues Society's best independently produced blues album and will compete in the national contest in Memphis. We are very excited to be in that company and hope the judges in Memphis like our effort. Thanks to the folks in Bowling Green for choosing our cd.   Rick  10-24

Well, we obviously did not get the cd released in September, but it"s ready now. (Finally)   We re-did several songs off our first cd (which we were never satisfied with) and recorded a lot of brand new ones and it will be released this Friday  October 23rd.....I hope everyone who has been asking for a cd will come out and see us at Stevie Ray's and pick up one....I think you will like it.....I went to Stevie's last week to see Rick Estrin and the Nitecats and was once again blown away....I think they are the best blues band in the country....if you are not going out during the week to see the national acts being brought in by Todd at Stevie's, make it a point to check them out....The best acts in the country are coming in there and we all need to support the folks bring them in..

On on another note, we are very proud to announce that the fabulous Marvin Maxwell in now playing drums for the Kingbees...Marvin is a legendary drummer and will make sure the band drives hard on every song...

We won't be back to Stevie Ray's till December 19(late), so come on out to Stevie Ray's Oct 23 or 24 and party with the "Bees during the cd release party........see you there...Rick  10-21-09
It's been a while since I  had tme to update things here. Been pretty busy. We had a great time last month at Stevie Ray's and saw some old friends who come in for the Hot Rod show and see us while they were here.  Thanks to everyone for coming out.

The big news is that we have finally recorded the long awaited CD!  We spent last week in the studio with Don Ernst and got it all down. It is being mixed as we speak and our goal is to release it at Stevie Ray's when we are there the last weekend in September. Look for more info regarding the CD release party later in the month. The title is "Love Hasn't Killed Me Yet"and  it will have14 songs. We are really looking forward to the finished product and we all feel like it will be a CD we can be proud of.. All you folks who have been requesting a CD be sure and come out to see us in September. See you there....August 26

The Blues and BBQ festival at the water tower was a blast. Thanks to Jennifer and the Bisig Goup for putting on a great show. Turnout was great in spite of all the activities in town last weekend.  Caught the Mudcats, Predators and the Beat Daddy's Saturday night with a great crowd and played Sunday to another big bunch of folks.

Catch us August 7-8 at Stevie Ray's at 7:30, with VooDoo Lounge band to follow. There are going to be several outdstanding national acts coming to Stevie's in the coming months, including Tommy Castro, Watermelon Slim and The Nite Cats, one of my very favorite bands. Check out Stevie Ray's website for dates.

We have gotten many e-mails and phone calls from people wanting to know where they can get a CD.  Fact is, our first CD is out of print, but we have just obtained financing to record our second. Thanks Kevin... a true patron of the arts., a music mogul,  indeed.  We hope to start on it in the near future and I hope to be able to release it by the end of the summer. There WILL be a party. As always, thanks for your support......see you soon....RIck...6-19

It's been a busy few weeks, but the Handy Blues Festival in Henderson was great. Hats off to Dorin Luck and the other folks who are responsible for that festival. They do it very well and we hope to be invited back.

Some of us blew town for a brief vacation...Rob went to Destin, Has was in Myrtle  Beach,  John was in Gatlinburg for a few days and I made it down to the Fortress of Solitude in Naples for a while.  We are officially tan, fit, rested and ready.

While we were out of town, it was really sad to hear of the passing of Louisville icon Tim Krekel. He was a major talent and a fine person and we will miss his voice greatly. There is a major tribute album in the works of bands recording Tim's songs and we hope to be part of that. It will be an honor to record one of Tim's songs.

On a happier note, before I left town, Patty and I took in Arnett Hollow at Vernon Lanes, featuring once and always Kingbee Rob Edwards on drums. They are a great band playing all originals. Check them out around town.....also Vernon Lanes has turned into a great venue for music.....we hope to play there in the near future.

We are really looking forward to this weekend and playing again in the Louisville BluesNBBQ festival at the watertower. We played it for several years, opening for Albert King and Marsha Ball. We will play Sunday 4-12 at 4:00 and our good friends Lamont Gillespie and 100 Proof will close the festival. Hope all our friends and fans can make it.
If not come see us at Stevie Ray's in September..

A friend e-mailed me to tell me the songs on this site can't be downloaded.....sorry, we thought they could and will try to fix that if possible.......come see us when you can or e-mail us at the above address....rick   7-6-09
To our friends and fans......we will use this page to communicate with you and keep you informed about the band....please feel free to communicate with us via our e-mail, info@kingbeesblues.com

We are really excited to once again play at the Handy festival in Henderson on June 13th at 3:00 and also to play the Blues and BBQ festival at the water tower on July 12th at 4:00 p.m.  Also  on that  show are our good friends Lamont Gillespie and 100 Proof, so that's going to be a fine day.

As always. looking forward to Stevie Ray's gigs on June 19 and 20.....

i'd like to thank the lovely Patty Cain for all her hard work in putting this site together....and remind everyone that the Patty Cain Trio plays every Saturday night at the Old Stone Inn in Simpsonville, so check them out...they are great...
